Our Equestrian Centre gives you everything you need to develop real‑world skills, confidence and experience in a professional equine environment.
These purpose‑built facilities are used every day for teaching, training, rehabilitation and competitions, making Moulton College the perfect place to learn if you’re passionate about horses.
Whether you’re studying horse care, equine management, therapy or riding, you’ll work in the same spaces used by industry professionals – helping you build the skills that employers look for.
Our horses and yards
We offer stabling on site for up to 36 horses across three yards.
The main yard also includes a purpose-built covered demonstration area with cross ties, stocks, hot-water shower, solarium and equine laundry facility.
There is also an array of post and rail paddocks surrounding the Equestrian Centre providing grazing all year round.
Our yards include:
- Up to 36 stables, all fitted with rubber matting and in‑situ hay bars
- Individual horse profiles on each stable to help you learn their personalities, needs and equipment
- Secure tack rooms, rug rooms, feed rooms and storage areas
- A daily duty rota that mirrors professional yard routines (mucking out, feeding, grooming, turnout and evening checks)
These busy working yards support your practical learning and develop your confidence handling a wide range of horses.
Indoor and outdoor arenas
Our arenas give you high‑quality spaces to develop your riding, coaching and horse‑handling skills.
- Landscape mirrors for rider position analysis
- Galleried seating, PA system and commentary box
- Used for lessons, training and competitions
Our arenas are used for a number of British Dressage and British Showjumping events, as well as clinics and hire sessions.
There are often opportunities to be involved with these events on weekends, giving you extra commercial experience and valuable insight into equine event management.
The Equine Therapy Centre
One of the most advanced facilities of its kind in the UK, the Therapy Centre provides hands‑on experience in equine rehabilitation and performance:
- Water treadmill
- Straight‑line swimming pool
- Cold‑water salt spa
These facilities support teaching in horse fitness, recovery, performance and therapy – skills that are in high demand across the industry.
Meet Phoenix, our mechanical horse
As part of your riding and coaching training, you’ll use Phoenix, our mechanical horse, to improve rider position and biomechanics. Phoenix can walk, trot and canter, and features pressure sensors to assess rein contact and rider symmetry.
Phoenix helps you develop correct aids, balance and effectiveness in a controlled environment.
