The Football Academy at Moulton College gives girls and boys the opportunity to combine your studies with regular training and competitive football.
Designed for students who are passionate about the game, the Football Academy help you develop your skills, improve your performance and represent Moulton College in fixtures and competitions.
Our successful academy is built on the following core principles: Work ethic, Teamwork, Focus and Character. It is a great option if you want to continue playing football while studying in a supportive college environment.
Our partnership with Wellingborough Town Football Club
The Football Academy at Moulton College is delivered in partnership with Wellingborough Town Football Club. Our links with them and with the national and local county Football Association provide additional playing and networking opportunities.
Training and Coaching
Students take part in structured training sessions designed to develop:
- technical ability
- tactical understanding
- fitness and conditioning
Sessions are delivered by experienced coaches, helping players improve their performance in both training and match situations.
Fixtures and competition
Students have the opportunity to represent Moulton College in competitive fixtures at different levels of college sport including the National Youth Alliance U19 League, the ESFA and ECFA national championships and the FA Youth Cup.
Playing in matches allows students to:
- apply their skills in real game situations
- develop teamwork and communication
- gain valuable match experience

Information for Joe Pygall - Head of Football
Joe has worked for the College since 2019 and brings with him a wealth of experience including working at Milton Keynes Dons FC and various roles at grassroots clubs, primary and secondary schools and private development centres. He completed a degree with the University of South Wales in partnership with the EFL Trust and has even worked in New York as the ‘Soccer counsellor’ at Camp Schodack.
