T Levels at Moulton College

T Levels are a new type of qualification designed to give you the skills and experience needed for a career in your chosen industry.

At Moulton College, T Levels combine classroom learning with a substantial industry placement, helping you develop practical skills and real-world experience.

T Levels are equivalent to three A Levels and are a great option if you want a more hands-on approach to learning.

What is a T Level?

A T Level is a two-year qualification that includes classroom-based learning, a significant industry placement and development of technical and professional skills.

T Levels are designed in partnership with employers to ensure that what you learn is relevant to industry.

Industry placement

One of the key features of a T Level is the industry placement.

During your course, you must complete a placement with an employer. These are mandatory to complete the course. We will support you to find a placement however you will be encouraged to find a placement yourself.

The placement gives you the opportunity to:

  • gain real work experience
  • develop practical skills
  • understand your chosen industry
  • build confidence in a professional environment

All of these experiences will help you to prepare for employment or higher level study such as degree programmes.

T Levels vs A Levels, vocational courses and apprenticeships

T Levels are one of several options available to you after school.

  • T Levels - focus on technical skills and include an industry placement
  • A Levels - focus on academic study across different subjects
  • Vocational courses - specialise in one subject, mainly learning at college but also likely to include some work experience
  • Apprenticeships - combine work and training with an employer

T Levels are ideal if you want a balance of classroom learning and practical  experience.
