University-level study, college-level support
Higher education doesn’t have to mean higher pressure. And let’s be honest, traditional universities aren’t built for everyone.
Many of the courses in our Higher Education Centre are validated by the University of Northampton, so you graduate with a degree-level qualification that’s accredited by a well-established and highly regarded university.
The difference?
Here, you study in an environment that’s more personal, closer-knit and more supportive. We challenge you at degree level – but we don’t leave you to figure everything out on your own.
It’s the same level of qualification, but a very different experience.
Teachers who are there when you need them
Here, your lecturers aren’t researchers who can’t be contacted between lessons.
They’re experts who teach, mentor and stay involved in your progress.
And the best bit – they do research too. So, your teaching will always be up to date with what your industry is looking for.
Our classes are small by design, so tutors know you, support you and step in early when you need it.
It’s degree level study with the safety net most universities can’t offer.
A ‘best of both worlds’ student experience
You’ll live, study and socialise in a beautiful rural campus located in the heart of Moulton, a recent winner of Northamptonshire Village of the Year.
There’s everything you need right on your doorstep – three pubs, shops and even a village theatre – plus a college estate that covers over 450 hectares of pristine countryside.
Our large campus means we can offer specialist facilities and natural environments that most universities simply can’t match, particularly for our land-based, animal welfare and construction management students.
Despite our rural location, we’re just six miles away from the centre of Northampton and an hour’s train ride from London and Birmingham, with good transport links.
Learn by doing, not just listening
You don’t come to Moulton College to sit in lecture theatres and hope it all makes sense later.
You’ll train and learn in real working environments that reflect the industries you’re aiming for. Here, you use professional equipment and facilities as part of your everyday learning, not simulations or scaled down versions.
This isn’t preparation for hands on work. It is hands on work.
That means by the time you graduate, you won’t just understand your subject – you’ll be confident working in it.
Are we right for you?
Let’s be real. Choosing a land-based college for your degree isn’t for everyone. But it’s the perfect option for some.
Moulton College is a great fit if you:
- Learn best by doing, not just listening
- Work better in smaller groups with more support from tutors
- Want a degree but not the traditional university experience
We might not be for you if:
