Furniture Studies students have access to an exciting range of specialist resources at the College. Our state-of-the-art workshops are equipped with specialist tools and resources for a wide range of creative craft subjects.
Guided by our specialist staff and expert guest lecturers you’ll develop your skills in using hand and power tools to hand-craft furniture, to equip you for employment or further study.
Guided by our expert lecturers, you'll learn to craft beautiful wooden furniture using various tools and technologies.
Modules include:
- Health and safety in furniture making.
- Timber technology for sound judgements in the trade.
- Furniture construction methods for design and manufacturing.
- ITC skills for basic geometric, pictorial, and working drawings.
- Hand skills for intermediate geometric, pictorial, and working drawings.
- Furniture design process for creating basic items.
- Manufacturing intermediate furniture with hardwoods, fixtures, and fittings.
- Making and attaching doors, drawers, and fittings.
