You can begin your journey with the Level 1 Diploma in Land-based Studies, where you’ll build a strong foundation in plant care, growing techniques, environmental awareness and practical land-based skills. This is an ideal starting point if you’re new to the sector or looking to build confidence.
We also offer a Level 2 Diploma in Horticulture. At this stage, you’ll deepen your knowledge of plant propagation, identification and care, while developing practical skills in landscaping, turf care and the use of machinery. You’ll also gain experience in the establishment and maintenance of both soft and hard landscapes.
Work placement opportunities help you build valuable industry experience and understand how horticulture operates in professional settings.
After completing your studies, you could progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study where available. Careers in horticulture are broad and varied, with opportunities in landscaping, plant production, garden design, grounds maintenance and environmental sectors.
