You’ll have the opportunity to complete work placements as part of your course, with previous students gaining experience at organisations such as MK Dons Football Club, Northampton Saints, Northamptonshire County Cricket Club and Wellingborough Town Football Club.
Alongside your course, you can apply to join our Sports Academy programmes, where you’ll train to a professional standard. This includes a structured weekly schedule of coaching, strength and conditioning, video analysis and access to massage and injury clinics.
There’s also opportunity to compete at a national level, with recent successes including football academy finalists competing at Hawthorn Stadium, home of West Bromwich Albion FC, and our rugby academy achieving back-to-back promotion under elite coaching by England Deaf Coach, Phil Powell.

There are also pathways into coaching, education and sport development, including PE teaching, community coaching and leadership roles, as well as careers in sport business such as gym or health club management.
We offer undergraduate degrees in Sports Therapy or Sports Performance and Coaching. You can also study at HNC or HND level, giving you flexibility in how you progress. Many students choose to move directly into employment after completing their qualification, while others continue onto a full BSc (Hons) top-up degree or further specialist study in areas such as physiotherapy or sport science.
