Apprenticeship Overview
Learn the essential skills you need to be able to maintain and create stone structures and buildings.
There are two key career routes:
Banker mason
Follow design instructions to carve and shape stone and give it a textured or polished finish (known as dressing), using hand and power tools.
Heritage stonemason
Specialise in preparing backgrounds to prepare stone cladding and learn how to conserve and restore existing brickwork using heritage techniques.

End Point Assessment Content
Observation with questions, professional discussion, and a portfolio of evidence.
Qualification Awarded
- Apprenticeship certificate
- Level 1 and/or Level 2 English and maths (if applicable)
