Apprenticeship Overview
You will learn how to safely climb, prune, fell and maintain trees using specialist equipment, while gaining knowledge in tree health, biodiversity and industry standards, The course combines practical training with classroom learning, helping you build the skills employers need.
Skills an apprentice will learn
- Tree work techniques including safe and effective pruning, felling, dismantling and more
- Maintenance, cross cutting and use of a chainsaw
- Aerial tree work using ropes and harnesses
- Operating equipment such as woodchippers and stump grinders
- Setting up work sites, maintaining tools and equipment and performing hedge maintenance
- Tree health monitoring
- Understanding and applying traffic management and emergency first aid procedeures

Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio and a practical assessment.
