Thinking about what to do after you finish your GCSEs? If you aren’t sure that A Levels are the route for you, or you like the idea of doing something that blends practical skills, real-world experience and classroom learning, then T Levels might be the answer.

As a Further Education college, Moulton College offers vocational qualifications, including T Levels. You can choose from a growing range of T Level courses designed to prepare you for skilled careers in land-based industries, construction and animal care.

Our current offering includes five full-time T Level courses across our specialist curriculum areas, making it an excellent choice for you if you prefer hands-on learning in a unique, well-equipped and friendly environment.

Climb heady heights with Tree and Woodland Management

If you have a passion for working in the great outdoors and a love of the natural environment, Moulton College has two T Level pathways on offer in tree and woodland management.

Both provide an excellent practical and theoretical grounding, including the chance to correctly and safely work with industry-standard machinery such as chainsaws, and hone your tree-climbing skills.

While the Arboriculture route is focused on trees and their management in more urban settings – ideal for a career in a local council or as a tree surgeon – the Forestry route can take you into roles such as estate or larger-scale woodland management.

Led by expert lecturers, both pathways provide the essential skills and expertise necessary to thrive in the sector. What’s more, as Moulton College is situated in acres of Northamptonshire countryside, we have the space and facilities you need to really get hands-on. From specialist workshops, machinery and equipment to large specimen trees, ornamental shrubs, access to an extensive arboretum and links with local estates, you are in the right place to practice and develop your skills, including tree felling and climbing with ropes and harnesses.

Get your claws into Animal Management

Wild about working with animals? From meerkats to monkeys, Moulton College is home to a dedicated Animal Welfare Centre housing 140 different species, including mammals, reptiles, birds and fish.

This vibrant environment provides the perfect setting for our T Level in Animal Management, giving you the opportunity to blend in-depth learning of animal care, welfare and management knowledge with hands-on experience in animal husbandry, behaviour, biology and conservation.

Guided by a team of knowledgeable lecturers, you will broaden and deepen your understanding of animal-related topics and complement your learning with an industry placement.

As a course, this T Level is the ideal starting point for a huge range of careers working with all kinds of animals, from working with companion animals to jobs in the veterinary and zoology sectors.

Fire up your farming future with Agriculture, Land Management and Production

If you are interested in farming, sustainability and food production, our T Level in Agriculture, Land Management & Production is the ideal introduction to the industry.

Home to a working farm situated across more than 440 acres, Moulton College’s longstanding heritage in agriculture, combined with leading course expertise, specialist equipment and machinery, and onsite access to livestock and arable knowledge, makes this T Level the perfect foundation for your farming future.

The course covers everything you will need to thrive in land-based employment, from health and safety, business management and supply chain knowledge to sustainability, biosecurity and environmental stewardship. You will also get the chance to specialise in livestock or crop production, with the livestock route developing your understanding of anatomy and physiology, animal health, nutrition and medicine, and the crop management pathway honing your expertise in working with crops, trees, horticulture and landscaping.

Delve into design and planning with Construction and the Built Environment

Planning a future in construction? Our Construction and the Built Environment T Level provides a strong foundation in design, surveying and planning.

This course combines technical knowledge with industry placements, helping you to firmly set foot on the first rung of the working ladder into careers like surveying, site management, or construction design.

Guided by our expert team of lecturers, you will develop a strong foundation utilising a balance of theory and practical skills over the two-year course.

You will cover key areas like health and safety, measurement and building technology, and hone the digital and data skills that are now so vital in the ever-evolving construction sector. The course also helps you develop the business skills needed to thrive, from project management to commercial and legal knowledge.

Specialist knowledge of civil engineering, and surveying and design forms the basis for the second year of your T Level at Moulton College. Combined with your industry placement, you will develop an in-depth understanding of how projects are planned, managed, and delivered in real-world settings, ready to make your mark on the built environment of the future.

Whether your interests lie in the countryside, with animals or in construction, Moulton College’s T Level courses offer a practical and career-focused route into the world of work while still keeping pathways open for further study should you choose to continue into Higher Education.
